Why parents prefer to choose for a stroller from Southern Europe

inglesina zuid europese invloedenMaybe you have spotted it already in baby stores and on the street. Between the conventional Dutch stroller brands I see more and more influence from southern Europe. How come? Different baby stores told me that some parents prefer to choose something completely different than the well known Dutch stroller and baby brands to distinguish themselves. Important stroller brands from southern Europe are for example Cam and Bébécar. Opting for these strollers is opting for pastel shades, with a little bling like shiny stones, bows or embroidery. Everything is elegant and beautifully finished, including  a luxery foot muff. For more luxury you can chose the retro classic of the Italian brand Inglesina (see picture), handmade, extremely comfortable with good suspension. The only disadvantage is maybe that this stroller is not easy to fold and to take with you in the car. But nevertheless, such a coach deserves a place of honor in your home, right?

So stylish with Mima Sicilian Red

mima xari sicilian red babytrendwatcherWhat a classy appearance, the new color Sicilian Red of Mima Xari with Rose Gold frame and red lining. The nice thing is that as a mother to be, you can select your own Mima Xari and personalize it. Therefore you can choose from three color frames, seven colors lining and nine colors as starterpack! So stylish! By the way, this Mima Xari is also available in British Green and from late summer in the new color Cool Grey. Something less striking, but just as chic.

Thule and the revival of the jogger stroller

Thule urban glide babytrendwatcherVisiting the Kind + Jugend trade fair is hard work so I’m always happy that my husband comes along for the last two days. In this way we combine business and pleasure in Cologne. He is always surprised by the innovations in the baby market, but has obviously seen enough baby stuff after all these years. Until we arrived on the booth with the Swedish label Thule this year. For us, women, Thule is not such a well known brand, but for men this brand means a lot! Because Thule is known for its roof boxes and roof racks, bike carriers, suitcases, backpacks, sturdy covers and bags. My husband is a fan. Now Thule focusses on on mobile parents with a collection of new bicycle seats, a back carrier but also a sleek jogger Urban Glider with superlight frame. In the early 90s, the first jogger stroller was introduced on the Dutch market, and it became a hype. Now, in this world of four-wheelers strollers, maybe it’s time we get a revival!

Bugaboo stroller & Andy Warhol Banana collection

bugaboo banana andy warhol babytrendwatcherBugaboo stroller & Andy Warhol Banana collection
Attention all Bugaboo fans: in May the new Bugaboo stroller will be introduced with a design by Andy Warhol : the Banana! What did Warhol had in mind with this design? Is it a joke? Is it art? Like no other Andy Warhol challenges his audience to look with other eyes at art and also at his designs. For this design Andy Warhol was inspired by an album cover previously made by him for the rock band The Velvet Underground & Nico in the 60s. I agree, this is not a dramatic change in stroller design, but you do make a statement on the street with this limited edition, cheerful black bananaprint on a bright yellow fabric!

Rem voor op hol slaande kinderwagens

navigator lifestyle hero
